THE LORD IS URGENTLY TRYING TO SAVE YOU
911 is probably the most famous telephone number around the world as it is used to take care of all kinds of emergencies. People know that they can promptly obtain help in a dangerous situation. During the year of the pandemic, 911 was certainly one of the most widely dialed numbers for many people required urgent help, many thought their life or the life of a loved one was under threat and we all know that dialing 911 is the best you can do in an emergency.
Jesus expressed urgency to save the lives of others too “tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered; this man welcomes sinners and eats with them. Then Jesus told them this parable. Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, rejoice with me, I have found my lost sheep.
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent”. (Luke 15: 1-7).
In this Scripture, we can easily understand that the shepherd, when sensing the absence of one sheep, urgently starts searching for it. The shepherd promptly takes an action aimed at saving the life of one of his sheep; the shepherd wanted to rescue the sheep alive.
Likewise, we read in Matthew 13: 45-46 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it”. As you can see, as soon as the fine pearl “prospector” found what he was looking for, he quickly sold everything to own what we wanted. This is what the first disciples of the Lord experienced, they left everything behind to pursue the Lord and be saved; changing their lives forever.
God wants to save you!
In this historical moment, the reality that the pandemic has brought upon us moved back and forth the foundations of our Faith creating so many voids in so many people that God is urgently trying to save us.
The Father through the Son, Jesus Christ, both want us to live fully and freely, not in fear, uncertainty, hatred, dread, or sickness; for nothing should stand in the way of the freedom given to us as children of God. “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance”. (2 Peter 3: 9).
Even though God is certainly patient with us, God urgently wants us to reconsider the lives we live, to trust Him, His salvation. God wants us to be free and not perish. Jesus had clearly explained that the patience of the Lord is aimed at saving all of us so that not one of us are lost.
The Mission of ESNE is to respond to the Call of the Lord, that urgent call made by God to find us and save us. We go out every day, like the shepherd who lost his sheep and the prospector searching of the valuable pearl; the Sower who always included in their goal the urgency to sow the Seed of Salvation so that no one is left out of the Love of Jesus and Mercy of God. So that everybody understands that the Holy Spirit is always with them in power and with gifting from Heaven.
Now, dear Sower, I ask you to stop for a moment and think how important you are to God and understand that God wants to heal you and obtain the best for you. God Himself shaped you and knows your potential to act.
I pray that all the baptized and our Church get this sense of urgency and pays attention to the wishes of our Lord. This is why Pope Frances is always asking us to “go to the periphery”, “make a fuss” and rekindle the fire of the Spirit so that the world understands that Jesus is the Love and answer, to transform darkness into Light and heal the world and everyone in it.
At ESNE, we hear an amazing number of stories of abandonment, solitude, lack of love, fear of violence, the pandemic, their families, the economy… and that the programming and messages that you have provided have met all those individuals in the mist of their darkness with courage and hope. Their stories confirm ESNE’s Mission is URGENTLY needed so that together we save souls and transform the world. Amen.
A sincere message of gratitude and a challenge
My eternal gratitude to all of you for your faithfulness in contributing to ESNE. Your selfless offerings are essential to continue rescuing souls for Christ, responding to the urgency to save everyone by proclaiming The Good News.
Together, we can touch the hearts of those in need to hear God’s voice in their wilderness. Thanks to your generosity, they can hear that voice over the radio in various stations, some of which have been supported for a long time by your faithfulness to the Word of God. On TV in 20 countries and reaching everyone in the world through social media. Soon – let us pray – in person conferences and missions as well as through ESNE’s orphanage in Tijuana, Baja California, my personal favorite, to directly form the lives of least among us.
I also thank you for joining our Hope Bearers Day (Portadores de Esperanza) that will allow us to purchase a radio station in Houston, Texas and spread the Word of God in that city whose Hispanic population makes up 45% of the city but only 15% of the city is Catholic. Houston reminds me of what Jesus said, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” (Matthew 13:44). Won’t you help buy that field and claim Houston, Texas for Christ? The time is urgent.
As you can see, your Seed, your generous monthly contribution is vital and far reaching. This is why I ask you to take part in the “Multiplication Miracle” challenge (“El milagro de la multiplicación”). Please, if within your reach, multiply your contribution this month so that we can reach our mutual goals and consolidate all these projects so that together, with the help of your Seed darkness is transformed back into Light.
